Kent practices in the areas of residential and commercial real estate, corporate/commercial and wills and estates. In addition to being a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers Society and the Real Estate Lawyers Association of Nova Scotia, he has instructed in the area of real estate law at the Bar Admission Course.

A life-long resident of Dartmouth, Kent has been actively involved in the community as a volunteer. He has served on the School Advisory Committee at Dartmouth High School where he was also manager of the boys’ hockey team. Additionally, he has served on the Board of Directors of Dartmouth Whalers Minor Hockey Association, Canadian Volleyball Association and Sport Nova Scotia. He is Past President of Volleyball Nova Scotia, Dartmouth Curling Club and Brightwood Golf and Country Club. He had been actively involved with the City of Lakes High School Hockey Tournament, World Junior Curling Championships and the Nova Scotia Arthritis Society charitable golf tournament.
